The EmpowerPhysioPet Virtual Mobility Consultation is a one-on-one, online video conference call with you, your pet, and Amie, focusing on what YOU want to focus on to help you help your pet be more confident in movement. Virtual mobility consultations are a great adjunct if you’re taking your pet to rehabilitation, but are having a hard time scheduling follow-up sessions, whether because of your schedule or the schedule of your pet’s rehabilitation facility.

They’re also a great option if you’re unable to regularly take your pet to a rehabilitation facility, due to travel or time constraints or your pet’s anxiety or inability to travel. EmpowerPhysio offers short- and long-term programs, with regular online support, tailored to your lifestyle, schedule, and location, near or far.

Sessions May Include:

  • Guided mobility assessments

  • Home safety assessment

  • Instruction in therapeutic exercise, massage, range of motion, or stretching techniques

  • Biomechanical analysis of your pet in his natural environment

  • Coordination with your pet’s veterinary care team

  • Prescription or review of a progressive home exercise program specific to your pet and his mobility challenges

  • Local networking and referral when appropriate

  • and more

We had the pleasure of working with Amie when our Border Collie, Tug, pulled up lame with a psoas strain. Amie examined Tug thoroughly on our first visit and then prescribed a series of exercises for her. Because schedules are busy, we did a lot of work with Amie via video! Before progressing to more difficult exercises or more strenuous activities, we’d send a series of videos of Tug doing her exercises and/or moving about. Amie would analyze them at full speed and in slow motion and would offer feedback, both about how Tug looked and what to do next. It was a great way allow Amie to closely guide Tug’s rehab, even though there were several weeks between visits.
